Quarterly NFL Report: Week 16
The Patriots (11-4), Titans (10-5), and Chiefs (10-5) have locked up their divisions. Pittsburgh and Baltimore are both 12-3 and still contending for the AFC North title.
The Falcons (12-3), Giants (11-4), Seahawks (10-5), and Packers (10-5) have all locked up their divisions in the NFC.
The Raiders, Colts, Texans, and Broncos (all 8-7) are vying for the sixth seed in the AFC playoffs.
The Saints (10-5), Panthers (10-5), and the Redskins (9-6) are competing for the two wild card spots in the NFC.
The Broncos at Raiders game has been flexed to Sunday night with potential playoff ramifications. It's understood if Oakland wins, they automatically secure the 6th seed no matter what.
Earlier reports said Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is considering retirement after this season is over. Arians has yet to confirm these reports and says he's focused on this season and finishing strong. Arizona has won their last four games.
Coaches rumored to be on the outs are Vikings HC Mike Zimmer, Rams HC Jeff Fisher, Bucs HC Lovie Smith, Bears HC John Fox, Cowboys HC Jason Garrett, and Bengals HC Marvin Lewis. Also, Jets HC Todd Bowles has been added to the list, as most feel his tenure with the Jets is over.
Seahawks corner Richard Sherman has been sidelined with a broken forearm. There's an understanding he will be cleared for the Wild Card round if Seattle plays then.
Colts quarterback Andrew Luck suffered broken ribs at Cincinnati in Week 16. The team isn't ruling him out or in for the Week 17 game against the Jaguars with a potential playoff spot on the line, but people around the league expect Luck to suit up.
Chiefs have lost playmaker Shock Linwood to a torn ACL for the upcoming postseason. Linwood had become a vital part of this young offense in Kansas City.

NFL Coaching Carousel
The Minnesota Vikings have canned head coach Mike Zimmer after a disappointing 2-14 year with the team. Zimmer had missed the playoffs each of the four years he's been with the team, earning a 22-42 record, never reaching the .500 mark in a season.
The New York Jets have fired head coach Todd Bowles after coaching a team to the season's worst 1-15 record. Bowles had given his team an 8-8 record the year prior, but will be looking for a new job this offseason.
The St. Louis Rams have cut ties with Jeff Fisher. Fisher, after making the playoffs the year prior with an 11-5 record, followed it up with the inverse 5-11 this year. Many suspect Fisher won't be looking too long for a coaching job.
Buffalo has fired Rex Ryan after a 5-11 season this year. The Bills finished third in their division this year after a 10-6 season the previous year.
The Buccaneers have parted ways with head coach Lovie Smith after a 7-9 season. The Buccaneers have not had a winning record the past three seasons with the Lovie Smith and Jameis Winston duo.
Chicago has fired head coach John Fox after a 7-9 year. The Bears have watched the Packers the last two seasons win the Super Bowl, while the Bears were 8-8 in both those seasons. Many are interested how this impacts Carson Wentz and his development.
The Bengals have parted ways with longtime head coach Marvin Lewis after a 7-9 year at the bottom of the AFC North. Marvin Lewis is valued as one of the better head coaches on the market now.
While rumors were mentioned that Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians would retire, that is not officially the case. However, the Cardinals and Arians have decided to "mutually part ways" and Arians has stated he wants the year off to focus on his family and health.
After Black Monday, the Vikings, Jets, Rams, Bills, Buccaneers, Bears, Bengals, and Cardinals will all be looking for new head coaches.
