First Order of Business

The new owner has announced that the Chargers will not be settling in LA after all.  In the coming weeks, expect a new city to be named, and also a team name!  That's right, a whole new franchise will be born.

Head Coach Anthony Lynn is expected to remain with the team through the 2019-20 season.  However, the new owner will be assuming the role of General Manager and will have the final say over the 53 man roster.  Expect several moves to be made as the new owner builds his team.

Eagles Trade:
QB Josh McCown

Josh McCown is expected to serve as the team's bridge QB as they ascend into a new era.  The new owner sited McCown's leadership both on and off the field as a reason for acquiring him.  With McCown's veteran presence, long time Charger's QB Philip Rivers services are no longer needed.  Expect a corresponding move to be made.

And just like that, the Philip Rivers era is over, but in this deal, the team gains a new starting Middle Linebacker in the 4th year man from WVU.  The new owner believes he has a linebacker that he can build the defense around for years to come.

The offense gains the speedy Ted Ginn Jr.  Expect the flashy veteran to be one of the outside starting receivers.
