JULY 19, 2021 - MONDAY NIGHT RAW
Raw begins with a recap of last night's Money in the Bank before WWE Champion Bobby Lashley comes with MVP. MVP hypes Bobby Lashley up as the guy on Monday Night Raw and all of WWE as YOUR WWE Champion. MVP lets Roman Reigns know when he shows up on Mondays, that everything goes through the All Mighty. MVP also gloats that Bobby didn't want to work Fridays because the weekends are meant for RnR for the WWE Champion, before BIG E comes out! Big E's followed by The New Day, but MVP points out they were drafted to SmackDown. Big E says he's here to bring the WWE Championship to SmackDown, and with his Money in the Bank contract, he tells Lashley to meet him in the ring later tonight for the main event, because he'll become the new WWE Champion! Lashley laughs but MVP looks concerned and MVP convinces Lashley to step out as the numbers game isn't around and Lashley shouts at Big E that he'll be split in half tonight.
Walking backstage, Triple H is making his way towards the ring because after the commercial break he'll reveal the NEW General Manager of Monday Night Raw... after the break, Triple H confirms the new era in WWE. Triple H shares he had a vision around 7 years ago about what developmental could grow into, and over the next few weeks, fans will see the fruition on television. Triple H states it wouldn't be possible without this man, William Regal! Regal comes out and accepts the position, sharing tonight he has made the WWE Championship match official for the main event: Big E wishes to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase against Bobby Lashley. Regal also says there will be matches to determine #1 contenders for next week's Raw. A 6-Man Gauntlet match later tonight to determine the #1 contender for the United States Title, a Fatal-4 Way to determine the #1 contender for the Raw Women's Title, and a tag team match right now to determine the next challengers for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Zelina Vega comes out and says while she wasn't successful last night, she suffered an injury that'll keep her out of action for some time, so she'll focus on the next Raw Tag Team Champions, cousins, Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo! You could tell there's still animosity between the two after their rivalry last year, but they're about to take on the Street Profits now!
ANGEL GARZA & HUMBERTO CARRILLO (with Zelina Vega) vs. STREET PROFITS :: #1 Contender's Match
Garza and Carrillo work pretty well together as a squad but it's the Street Profits doing the work they typically do, hitting the Electric Chair/Diving Blockbuster combo to secure a tag match against AJ Styles and Omos next week!
A special note of what's to come tonight:
- WWE Championship Match: Bobby Lashley(c) vs. Big E
- United States Championship #1 Contenders 6-Man Gauntlet
- Raw Women's Championship #1 Contenders Fatal 4-Way
The new Raw GM William Regal is tending to things backstage when The Usos come in furious about not being included in the #1 contender match, especially after being screwed last night for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Regal says he understands The Usos concern but things are run a little differently now. Regal says he knows the talent from NXT, and knows they deserve equal opportunity. The Usos say when Roman Reigns gets back, he'll take care of things and Regal will regret this, but Regal challenges The Usos to take matters into their own hands.
KAY LEE RAY vs. TONI STORM
After Regal hyped up the NXT talent, here are two NXT UK talent that are very familiar with each other and tear the house down. After about 13 minutes of fast-paced action, it's Toni with the Storm Zero with a big win!

KAY LEE RAY vs. TONI STORM
After Regal hyped up the NXT talent, here are two NXT UK talent that are very familiar with each other and tear the house down. After about 13 minutes of fast-paced action, it's Toni with the Storm Zero with a big win!
After seeing footage from last night's Money in the Bank PLE where Drew McIntyre got injured, there's footage from earlier today where Randy Orton is standing by and Elias decides to blame Orton for McIntyre getting hurt. Orton swore he wasn't the cause of it but Elias insists Orton's done terrible things to McIntyre in the past, which Orton agreed, but he didn't do this. Elias wouldn't let it go, so Orton told Elias to meet him in the ring tonight... fast forward, Elias is ready to perform with his guitar and calls Randy Orton out for being a coward, a liar, and unsafe for the working environment. Elias said he's prepared a song that shares what he envisions this new era for WWE being, that includes a safe space for wrestlers to flourish. Elias begins strumming and Rev Theory's "Voices" interrupts.
ELIAS vs. RANDY ORTON
This doesn't last long. It's unsure if Orton attacked McIntyre last night, but Orton got Elias on the ropes early and toyed around with Elias for his signature moves, finishing with a RKO.
Sheamus has an interview from Kevin Patrick about who he'd rather wrestle for the United States Championship next week. Sheamus says he isn't concerned about who is in the gauntlet or who wins, but whoever wins will be exhausted after tonight and they will face a well-rested Celtic Warrior next week!
Six-Man Gauntlet Match to determine the #1 Contender for the United States Championship ::
Starting with: BRONSON REED vs. SAMI ZAYN
Zayn was caught off guard with Reed's agility at his size. Reed making his Raw debut showed Zayn why he's a force to be reckoned with, and after about 10 minutes, Reed countered a Helluva Kick with a Uranage before heading to the top and landing a Tsunami on Zayn, UPSETTING Sami Zayn!
Third Entrant: KUSHIDA
Kushida was obviously intimidated stepping into the ring against Bronson Reed, but tried fighting it off with Kushida's high-flying and technical skills. Reed showed some signs of fatigue from wrestling one match already, but Reed slams Kushida to the mat with a Mark Henry-esque World's Strongest Slam to stay in the gauntlet.
Fourth Entrant: LA KNIGHT
LA Knight came in with all the confidence in the world, not allowing Bronson Reed to catch his breath, and in about 5 minutes, LA Knight didn't try lifting the big man off his feet, but hit a BFT to put Reed down after an impressive showing midway through the gauntlet.
Fifth Entrant: PETE DUNNE
After Bronson Reed put in about 20 minutes of action before LA Knight eliminates him, Pete Dunne comes in and these two go 20 minutes themselves, garnering "this is awesome" chants after LA Knight leaped up to the top rope and threw Pete Dunne to the mat. LA Knight tried hitting BFT on Dunne, who then tried countering into Bitter End, and Knight counters that, but Dunne counters that into a cross armbreaker where he tries to then separate and break the fingers of LA Knight, so the fans hear a CRACK! Dunne stands up and as LA Knight cries holding his hand, Dunne goes for the Bitter End but LA Knight counters into a small package and gets the THREE! Pete Dunne can't believe it, but then goes on the attack. Dunne beats LA Knight up, smashing his hand between the steel steps and the ring post, before hitting a Bitter End on the floor and rolling Knight back in for his next opponent...
Final Entrant: DAMIAN PRIEST
All Priest has to do is enter the ring as the official checks on LA Knight, but Priest doesn't allow it. He charges at LA Knight and picks Knight up to hit the Southside of Heaven, hooking the leg and winning the match.
Sheamus comes out to confront Damian Priest after, as it's worth noting Sheamus was likely hoping the man who won would be tired after running this gauntlet, but Priest barely had to lift a finger, and some suggest it's not over between LA Knight and Pete Dunne.
After the break, Johnny Gargano comes out for his Raw debut. Gargano takes the mic real quick to say thank you to the fans, to Triple H, and to William Regal for all these opportunities. Gargano says he's not supposed to be here in the minds of some, but he's ready to change those mummering critics into a roaring crowd!
FABIAN AICHNER vs. JOHNNY GARGANO
Gargano and Aichner show an incredible high-octane offense but Gargano puts Aichner away in a quick, 7-minute match with the Gargano Escape.
As Gargano's celebrating, he's attacked from behind... and it's the Usos! Jimmy and Jey are taking matters into their own hands, just as Regal challenged them earlier. The Usos are holding Gargano up and hitting superkicks but everyone is stunned when NO ONE WILL SURVIVE hits and Tommaso Ciampa darts to the ring with a steel chair, forcing The Usos to retreat. The Usos wave goodbye as they exit quickly before Ciampa turns to Gargano who can barely get to his feet. Gargano's shocked by Ciampa coming to the save with their recent beef in NXT, but Ciampa extends the hand and Gargano embraces Ciampa with a hug.
Meanwhile backstage, security is breaking up a fight between the Street Profits and the Raw Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Omos. Security is trying their best but Omos is just tossing people out of the way and Montez Ford is leaping off backstage luggage to keep the fight alive. William Regal sees this and sends more bystanders into the mix and demand the violence be saved until next week, announcing their match will now be a Street Fight next week!
Big E tells his New Day brothers Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods he's been waiting for this moment a while, and just like Kofi challenged Bobby Lashley last night by himself, he wants to go at it alone tonight. Kofi urges Big E to reconsider because he has regrets now about keeping them backstage, but Big E is stubborn with wanting to do this by himself tonight. Big E tells Kofi and Xavier to go prepare the hotel room for a party because he's not only bringing the WWE Championship home to SmackDown, but he's bringing it home to The New Day!
EMBER MOON vs. LACEY EVANS vs. RAQUEL RODIRGUEZ vs. SASHA BANKS :: #1 Contender's Match
It's a Fatal 4-Way that has 2016 vibes showing the present and future of women's wrestling in WWE, much like the Fatal 4-Way in 2016 that crowned Kevin Owens as new Universal Champion. All have signs to show what they can do, but nobody can match Raquel's power. Raquel threw everyone around like a ragdoll and even tossed Sasha Banks out of the ring, crashing hard on the apron on the way to the floor. Lacey Evans and Raquel Rodriguez were fighting back and forth before Lacey hits the Woman's Right that knocked Raquel and Ember Moon scaled to the top rope and hit the Eclipse on Raquel! Ember Moon was ready to pin Raquel but she walked into another Woman's Right and Lacey Evans covers Ember to win the match!
Lacey Evans raises her hand and Rhea Ripley comes to the ramp to acknowledge her challenger for next week.
Next week is set to be a MASSIVE Raw with three championships on the line. The Street Profits challenging AJ Styles and Omos in a Street Fight, Sheamus defending the United States Championship against Damian Priest, and the woman's match with Lacey Evans challenging Rhea Ripley. PLUS, Roman Reigns makes his Raw return after retaining the Universal Championship last night against Edge. But the question is, will Roman be the only world champion on Raw after tonight? Because Big E cashes his Money in the Bank briefcase in tonight against Bobby Lashley, with hopes of bringing the Universal Championship to SmackDown!
Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring first with MVP. Big E then comes out with his Money in the Bank briefcase, ready to put an entire brand on his back and bring the WWE Championship back to The New Day and SmackDown! As Big E walks to the ring, he's blindsided by two men. It's Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin! The two people formerly associated with Lashley and MVP before being kicked out of the Hurt Business after WrestleMania. Lashley and MVP look on, before Big E fights off Alexander and Benjamin. Big E then turns into a Spear on the outside! MVP barks orders and the Alexander/Benjamin duo throw Big E into the steel steps, face-first into the ringpost, and allowing Bobby Lashley to hit a Spear, breaking the barricade! Graves mentions the bell never rang, so Big E never cashed his briefcase in, but it looks like MVP had a plan all along... is the Hurt Business back?! The final scene of Raw is Bobby Lashley hoisting the WWE Championship standing above Big E with Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin pleased with their work.
