Working through the season... Sat Damontre Moore two games, David Irving four, Ezekiel Elliott six, and I believe I traded Randy Gregory away.
Beat the Giants, then lost to the Broncos. That's my only loss, and I am 5-1 after beating the Packers and 49ers tonight.
I'm trying to make it realistic as possible, as I'll try to keep a salary cap on to continue to give me a challenge for the next several seasons. I made a few moves in terms of trades:
I traded away Nolan Carroll and (I think) a 3rd-rounder for Minnesota's Teddy Bridgewater
- I didn't like Kellen Moore as my backup QB in the instance Dak Prescott goes down. I tried making several moves, and even tried to acquire DeShone Kizer, but it didn't work. Bridgewater has an 81 overall, and I'm much more confident with him as my backup. Nolan Carroll was my fifth-string corner, so no big deal. The only issue is re-signing Bridgewater after the season.
I traded away Kellen Moore for Oakland's TJ Carrie
- After doing the Bridgewater deal, I could now unload Kellen Moore. Just so happens, I did a Moore (68 ovr) for Carrie (76 ovr) swap. I don't know HOW they fell for it, but it was great after trading Carroll, a 76 overall.
then a couple weeks later...
I traded away David Irving, Darren McFadden, and a 4th-rounder for Cleveland's 1st-round pick, which is looking like it'll be #1
- I decided to do this because both Irving and Lawrence were 82 overall and both in contract years. I had Irving on the bench because of how well Taco Charlton was doing (already 10 sacks). I had to pick between the two, and considering Lawrence was racking up sacks himself, I decided to trade Irving. Also, I get Elliott back this week. I am thinking about re-signing Alfred Morris to the Cowboys after this year. Plus, that 1st-rounder is going to look nice if the Browns keep on losing. I don't know who I will use it on, or if I'll trade for another down the road, but it is looking good.
I am 5-1 at this stage, about to play the 4-2 Washington Redskins, whom are my only challenge at this point in my division. I am putting Elliott back in the lineup and am looking forward what happens now. Those were likely the final trades I make this year, considering I will more than likely keep the deadline on in Franchise.

Dude, it was GREAT!!!! 1st round, 11th overall; Zach Boyd (ROLB - Ohio State) - 82 OVR 3rd round; KC Paysinger (WR - Beth Cookman) - 77 OVR 3rd round; Markus Dudley (LG - Utah) - 77 OVR 5th round; Cameron Morgan (LE - Montana State) - 70 OVR 5th round; Harris Carmichael (LG - Boston College) - 78 OVR I took the scouting process seriously and even listed the guys I wanted to draft. Stuck to that board, along with need, and ended up killing it this class. The cooler thing is Carmichael, and once I scouted him, they said he'd go undrafted. He actually has overalls higher than some 1st-round picks! And he ended up having the second-highest overall on my team in a very good class. Like, HOW DID I DO THIS?! |

None of those guys are slated to start out of the gate, but I've had injuries at OLB and OL constantly in the Franchise. I may even try to dump Lee or Hitchens for Boyd for salary cap room. I need to re-sign Elliott, Prescott, Jaylon Smith, and those kind of guys here soon. As for WR, I brought Beasley back on a year's deal and I doubt I sign him again because Ryan Switzer has done so good for me in the slot. I've placed Terrance Williams on the trade block so next year I'm looking at Dez Bryant and KC Paysinger starting on the outside with Ryan Switzer in the slot. But yeah, I'm in the preseason of my third year. Beat the Chiefs 17-6 in the Super Bowl with Prescott and Elliott injured. I won it with Robert Griffin III and a rookie RB who only carried it once in the regular season lol |
