Thursday Night SmackDown | April 25, 2002What you need to know...
Tonight's episode begins with Vince McMahon making a huge deal, having an official contract signing in the ring for Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin brings the contract he grabbed on Sunday and signs the contract. Austin interrupts Vince's celebrating, to announce that he didn't do this for him, he didn't do this for The Undertaker, he did what he did to win the Undisputed WWF Championship and make Vince's life miserable. Vince doesn't take too kindly to this, pitting Stone Cold in the main event against Test.
"The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar made his in-ring debut at SmackDown by defeating Crash Holly with an F-5.
Billy went one-on-one with Spike Dudley with the respective cliques at ringside, but Spike captured Billy for enough time to hit Sliced Bread and score a big win, which the Dudley Boyz over-celebrated because of.
William Regal had a successful non-title victory over Perry Saturn, but Kane came and chokeslammed Regal after his cheap tricks on Sunday.
X-Pac mocked Hogan's WrestleMania decision by telling Nash and Hall to stay in the back. The nWo got a chuckle out of that, and while X-Pac had Hurricane in the ring, Hulk Hogan came down, interrupting the match, engaging in physical contact with X-Pac as the ref threw the match. This incited the nWo coming to the ring, but Hogan grabbed a chair and stood his ground, holding both Hall and Nash off.
In the main event, Stone Cold Steve Austin had his first match since WrestleMania going up against Test. After Stone Cold won the match using his Stunner, The Undertaker came down and the two brawled until SmackDown had to be cut off the air as bad blood appears to exist there.

Monday Night Raw | April 29, 2002
Raw on TNN tonight begins with Ric Flair with an item under a black cloth behind him. Flair starts by mentioning that after Stone Cold chose SmackDown and The Undertaker took the WWF Championship away, he had to make some big moves quick. Flair shows his naked wrist, saying he sold his Rolex among other personal items to not match, but surpass, what SmackDown has done. Flair said he went out and signed Sabu and he signed "The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels. Flair then mentioned he was able to grab the World Heavyweight Championship belt. Flair announces there will be an 8-man tournament that culminates at Judgment Day on May 19th. Flair announces the double main event tonight between Triple H and Rikishi, then Kurt Angle and Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam. This will begin the tournament. Christian came to the ring and asked if he was in the tournament, and when Flair stuttered, Christian pitched a fit. Flair then proposed that if Christian beats this man, he can take his spot in the tournament. Christian asked who, and it was Big Show! The Big Show came down with Tajiri's Cruiserweight Championship in possession for the spot in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament.
Christian def. Big Show for Big Show's Tournament Bid Christian took Big Show's spot in the tournament, thanks to the official's back being turned when Tajiri sprays the mist in Show's face and Christian tipping Show over for the pin.
As Tajiri had come down mid-match to watch up close, after he had cost Big Show his spot in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, he snatched his Cruiserweight Championship back and took off.
Backstage, The Coach welcomes Sabu and Tommy Dreamer. The Coach asks why Sabu came back, and Dreamer speaks on his behalf, saying that he was sitting in his hotel room Sunday night when Sabu called him up and asked if I wanted him here to fight off Raven and Big Boss Man, to even the odds. Dreamer revealed he put in a good word to Ric Flair as soon as they hung up and Sabu made the trip to Raw just about 30 minutes before it started. The Coach asked Sabu what it was like to be back, and Sabu didn't respond, but Dreamer said Sabu is looking forward to accepting Raven's open challenge tonight.
Goldust def. Mr. Perfect in a singles match Goldust used Shattered Dreams to pick up consecutive wins in back-to-back weeks.
Rob Van Dam gets some interview time with The Coach about his participation in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, and what that could mean for his reign as Intercontinental Champion. Van Dam says he has full intentions of carrying the responsibilities that are with being both the Intercontinental Champion and a world champion.
Sabu and Tommy Dreamer come to the ring as Sabu rolled a grocery cart out of weapons galore, and Dreamer brought down a kendo stick and began throwing weapons out from beneath the ring and throwing them inside. The two got in and Dreamer was the mic piece for Sabu, declaring that Hardcore Champion Raven come to the ring and issue his open challenge for the Hardcore Championship, that Sabu wants it. Raven comes to the stage with Big Boss Man by his side, and Raven said he has no intentions of defending his title tonight. Raven, however, says the Big Boss Man wants a match tonight and this presents a good opportunity since Sabu does as well.
Sabu (with Tommy Dreamer) def. Big Boss Man (with Raven) in a Hardcore Match The Big Boss Man ate an Arabian Facebuster, with a steel chair, to lose to a debuting Sabu on Raw.
Big Show was irate backstage about what had occurred, losing his spot in the tournament. Show was shoving backstage workers like rag dolls before Flair showed up and tried calming him down. Big Show demanded his spot in the tournament back, but Flair said he couldn't do that. Then Big Show directed his anger towards Tajiri, demanding a match with him next week on Raw. Flair granted this, making it official.
Prior to the first tournament match, what is shown is the bracket for the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross leak that Rikishi's spot was originally intended for The Rock, but he is unable to compete after last week's attack. Lawler mentions The Rock could've been World Heavyweight Champion, but Ross mentions Rikishi's golden opportunity (literally) to capture the gold.
Triple H def. Rikishi in the World Heavyweight Championship Quarterfinals Triple H advances to the semifinals with a Pedigree on Rikishi.
Backstage, Goldust is shown and a knock is at the door. Goldust shouts at Terri to go away, but walks in Trish Stratus. Goldust's demeanor instantly changes and Goldust apologizes. Trish doesn't give it a second thought, and Goldust asks what he can do for her, but Trish only congratulated Goldust on his win tonight. Stratus complimented Goldust for stringing together a couple wins in a row, and asking if he had dinner, asked if he'd like to go. Goldust jumped on this opportunity, and told her he needs to get into some clean clothes. Stratus heads out the locker room and Goldust is appeared shocked.
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler preview next week's HUGE Raw. They mention that just announced was the Hardcore Champion Raven would indeed be defending his championship against Sabu next week. In addition, Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri and Big Show will look to resolve their animosity after the show opened earlier. Also, "The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels makes his in-ring return to Monday Night Raw against Christian, who won his way in earlier tonight. The other quarterfinals would be Edge taking on Chris Jericho.
With The Coach is Shawn Michaels, and Michaels is asked about returning to the ring next week, and Shawn Michaels said he was ready. Shawn congratulated Triple H on his advancement earlier tonight, and the way the brackets are composed, is a finals at Judgment Day would be he versus his best friend, Triple H. HBK says that is the goal!
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler preview the main event, with the winner wrestling Triple H in the semifinals in two weeks time.
Kurt Angle def. Rob Van Dam in the World Heavyweight Championship Quarterfinals An outstanding main event ends like many of Angle's matches as of late, his opponent tapping to the Angle Lock.

Wow can’t believe Stone Cold chose the blue brand! But compensating well is perfectly done here! HBK has returned! I like that you’re still keeping tabs on SmackDown even though RAW is your primary focus. Reading your bookers is always a great escape! Keep it up man! Believe it or not, the story I’m most intrigued in is Big Show’s run and domination of the cruiserweights. Curious to see if it’s Tajiri who stops him... Or someone else?

Thursday Night SmackDown | May 2, 2002What you need to know...
Tonight's episode began with The Undertaker staking claim to his yard, but this was refuted by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Undertaker laid down the challenge himself, he's willing to prove this at Judgment Day by putting his title on the line, and Stone Cold accepts. The nWo have a counter to this, when Kevin Nash challenges Stone Cold to a match later tonight.
"The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar continued the momentum from his debut last week, pinning Billy Kidman after an F-5.
Chuck would get a cheap victory over Bubba Ray Dudley, with Billy tossing the title to Chuck before engaging in a fight with D-Von Dudley which diverted the ref's attention away. When Spike Dudley wrestled later in the night against Shawn Stasiak, Billy and Chuck rushed out once again, making a statement by putting Spike through a table.
After Kane chokeslammed Perry Saturn and won that match, it was noted that he will challenge William Regal at Judgment Day for the European Championship.
Women's Champion Jazz would win a non-title match over Stacy Keibler.
In the main event, Stone Cold Steve Austin battled Kevin Nash, but had to overcome X-Pac and Scott Hall at ringside. Pac and Hall intervened one too many times before Hulk Hogan's music hit and Hogan came with a steel chair in hand. He whacked X-Pac with it, knocking him down, and this rushed Scott Hall out of sight. Back in the ring, Stone Cold chopped Nash down to size and hit a Stunner to win the main event.

Monday Night Raw | May 6, 2002
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler quickly recap the announcement last week of a tournament starting to crown Raw's World Heavyweight Champion. After briefly reviewing the wins of Triple H and Kurt Angle, they show the rest of the bracket with Chris Jericho, Edge, Christian, and Shawn Michaels on the other half of the bracket.
Chris Jericho vs. Edge ends indecisive in the World Heavyweight Championship Quarterfinals Jericho and Edge battled outside the ring and Edge would end up spearing Jericho off the stage and onto the concrete. The ref threw this match out.
As Jericho and Edge are getting helped to the back, Lawler and Ross remind everyone of the other tournament quarterfinals match to come with Shawn Michaels returning to the ring after 4 years to wrestle Christian. They then remind of two other matches, the Big Show versus Tajiri, and Hardcore Champion Raven defending his title against Sabu.
Backstage, Raven is with Big Boss Man as the Hardcore Champion gets approached for an interview. Asked about defending his title tonight, Raven went on a rant about defending this title more than anyone on Raw, anyone on SmackDown, and anyone in the world. Raven has been a fighting champion, but he cites that he asked for tonight off weeks ago. Raven said his niece's birthday was today, but instead, he had to be here to defend a title he's done so many times. Raven asked what about Raven, and Big Boss Man chimed in, saying it wasn't fair to Raven, but it won't be fair to Sabu. Raven added on, saying that Sabu will lose this match and the mystique of his return will be gone, as a result ending his career.
Goldust (with Trish Stratus) def. Rob Van Dam in a non-title match With Stratus by his side, Goldust hit Shattered Dreams and upset the Intercontinental Champion.
Christian was interviewed by The Coach about his quarterfinals opportunity tonight against Shawn Michaels. Christian is excited to play spoiler for The Heart Break Kid's return and go on to be the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion for Raw.
Before Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri can walk down the ramp, he is blindsided by Big Show. The champion is then tossed around, getting thrown into the barricades and thrown across the steel steps. Big Show then decides to toss him into the ring, along with a trash can, and despite the officials coming to the ring to plead with Big Show, he chokeslams Tajiri onto the can. Big Show picked up the Cruiserweight Championship, along with picking Tajiri up by the hair with the other hand, and he clocks Tajiri with his own title, before stealing the title once again as he left Tajiri in the middle of the ring without an official match.
Coming back from commercial, King and Lawler recall what just happened with Big Show and Tajiri. Flair is shown in distress back in the office after two of his big matches scheduled for tonight have not gone the way he planned. He's approached by Goldust and Trish Stratus who come in, and Stratus speaks on behalf of Goldust after his win against RVD tonight, vouching for him to get an Intercontinental Championship opportunity next week on Monday Night Raw. Flair disregards this, saying he has a lot on his mind, and Stratus leads Goldust out of the office.
Mr. Perfect def. Scotty 2 Hotty in a singles match Mr. Perfect made quick work of Scotty with the Perfect Plex sealing the deal.
Requesting The Coach outside his office, Ric Flair addresses the Quarterfinals match that happened earlier tonight. Flair said that both Edge and Chris Jericho are banged up, but will be ready to compete for next week, stating that they will both compete in the semifinals, making it a Triple Threat match. Flair then assures the same result won't happen tonight when Shawn Michaels wrestles Christian. Ric Flair has appointed a special guest referee to assure that we get a decisive, clean finish. Then, Arn Anderson steps into the shot. Flair introduces Arn as the special guest referee, on such short notice, and "The Enforcer" says he will make sure the right man walks out tonight.
Sabu and Tommy Dreamer head to the ring for Sabu's Hardcore Championship opportunity, followed by the Big Boss Man accompanying champion Raven. However, the official sends both Dreamer and Boss Man to the back for this title match.
Raven© def. Sabu in a Hardcore Match for the Hardcore Championship Despite Dreamer and Boss Man barred from ringside, Justin Credible swooped in with a kendo stick and hindered Sabu's chances, which followed with a Ravenflow DDT.
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler are disgusted by Raven's antics by aligning with Justin Credible to beat Sabu tonight and retain the Hardcore Championship. Ric Flair is shown brewing over this in his office when he hears a knock and Flair blows his top, until Trish Stratus walks in. Trish said she stepped in earlier and understood it wasn't a good time, and Trish realized that the place to discuss business isn't always at work. Flair raises his eyebrow when Trish steps closer and says the hotel is a few blocks away and she'd desire to know what it's like to have a tab with The Nature Boy himself. This is where the conversation ends, when he tells the camera guy to scram.
Moments before his match, Shawn Michaels is stretching backstage when Triple H steps in. Triple H tells Michaels to kill it tonight, and with the way the bracket is set up, it can be the two of them two weeks at Judgment Day. Shawn said he'd have it no other way, but it starts tonight. They embrace in a bro hug prior to the commercial break.
Back from commercial, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler preview next week's show which will hold the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament's semifinals matchups. Triple H will go one-on-one with Kurt Angle. Then, as a result of the ending from earlier, Chris Jericho and Edge have both advanced to the semifinals and will wrestle the winner of the upcoming match in a Triple Threat semifinals match. The winners of these semifinals matches will wrestle in the finals at Judgment Day where a new World Heavyweight Champion is crowned. To the ring, is the main event!
Shawn Michaels def. Christian in the World Heavyweight Championship Quarterfinals After a huge ovation from the crowd, Michaels showed he still has it by ending things with a perfect elbow drop, followed by some Sweet Chin Music.
After qualifying, out came Kurt Angle to brutalize Shawn Michaels. Angle got a few shots in before Angle's opponent next week, Triple H, answered the call and rushed the ring. Angle fled quickly, but the goal was done, weakening The Heart Break Kid and getting in the mind of The Game ahead of next week's semifinal matchups.

I’d be absolutely thrilled to see Shawn Michaels go all the way and win this tournament, but if it ends up being he and Triple H in the finals, I have all of my money on The Game stabbing his best friend in the back in order to secure a title shot.

Thursday Night SmackDown | May 9, 2002What you need to know...
Tonight's episode began with the nWo in the ring. X-Pac was backed up by Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as he challenged Hulk Hogan to a match at Judgment Day. Hogan would graciously accept, in the instance he wrestles Scott Hall in the main event. They agreed, but Hogan added the stipulation of Hall coming alone.
"The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar continued his dominance by defeating Maven with an F-5.
Billy and Chuck fought Crash and Hardcore Holly but the match was thrown out when the Dudley Boyz came and attacked the WWF Tag Team Champions. After Billy and Chuck managed to get away with Rico, seeing as they pulled a table out, they put Crash Holly through the table before announcing to the world their conversation with Vince McMahon earlier today. Billy and Chuck will defend their championships at Judgment Day in a Tables Match. The first member to go through a table will lose it for their team.
William Regal won a non-title match against Chris Benoit by pulling out his brass knuckles. It was when Regal was confronted by Vince backstage that he learned his title defense against Kane at Judgment Day is now a No Disqualification match. Regal then looked at his brass knuckles, but Vince advised he come more prepared than that.
The Undertaker had time to speak on his opponent Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Undertaker said that Stone Cold won last week due to the nWo and Hulk Hogan's antics. The Undertaker explained that won't be the case at Judgment Day when it is one-on-one. The WWF Champion explains he is comfortable headed into the pay-per-view in 10 days and will be in 11 when he remains champion.
In the main event, Scott Hall was a man of his word and came out alone to wrestle Hulk Hogan. It was regretted, as Hall lost control of the match, and went on to lose to a big leg drop. As Hogan was celebrating a grueling victory, he was attacked from behind by X-Pac with a steel chair to the spine. Kevin Nash entered the ring too and it became a 3-on-1 assault, and they each laid Hogan out with their finishing moves.
