 April 8, 2019- Tonight's show began with the announcement every McMahon is in attendance and are making "groundbreaking" announcements tonight. But the opening segment stars Seth Rollins as the new Universal Champion. Rollins says he wants a vision of being a fighting champion that will be on Raw every week. Rollins says he's kicking the reign off right by issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back. Rollins said, in honor of Kofi Kingston's win last night, he wants someone who has never received a 1-on-1 opportunity. The music hit of SAMI ZAYN! Zayn has returned and is stepping up to challenge Rollins. -Seth Rollins© vs. Sami Zayn for WWE Universal ChampionshipZayn and Rollins have an epic contest as both draw positive reactions from the crowd. Rollins finishes a valiant effort of Zayn with the Curb Stomp.
winner: Seth Rollins.- Roman Reigns has an interview with Charly Caruso about Sami Zayn answering the open challenge by Seth Rollins. Reigns lets it be known that if Rollins continues to issue the open challenges, he'll answer the call one time and regain what he never lost. -Apollo Crews vs. Drew McIntyreMcIntyre is in a sour mood after last night and he takes it all out on Apollo Crews before silencing Apollo Nation with the Claymore Kick.

Following his victory, McIntyre grabbed a microphone. McIntyre mentioned last night, Roman was the better man. However, if anyone is to be scared of what is next, it is all the WWE Universe beloves.- A limousine pulls up to the arena and out steps Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Shane McMahon. Triple H receives the loudest of cheers while Shane receives the loudest boos. -
- In the ring is Elias. Elias addresses the Doctor of Thuganomics last night at WrestleMania and decides to grace New York with a second chance to hear his performance. Elias takes a dig at Odell Beckham trade, while he uses the line "John Cena was once the face that ran this place, but now when he shows everyone makes the Eli face." Honky Tonk Man, a new Hall of Fame inductee, interrupts him. Honky Tonk Man gives Elias wise advice that being an obnoxious guitarist isn't the best career path. Elias understands, but clocks Honky Tonk Man from behind with his guitar. Elias then, for good measure, takes the Honky Tonk Man's guitar to hit him a second time. Medical personnel comes to tend to the Hall of Famer headed to commercial. -
- Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch comes to the ring and addresses finally reaching the pinnacle with the WWE Universe alongside her. Becky is very passionate in her speech before Tamina and Nia Jax interrupt. After Tamina claims Becky's win was a fluke with Rousey's shoulders off the mat, Becky mocked Tamina and Nia for not winning their match last night and losing to the IIconics. -Becky Lynch vs. Tamina (w/Nia Jax)The champion shows why she is The Man as Lynch struggles with Nia Jax's involvement on the outside but will catch Tamina in the Dis-arm-her and forces the submission.
winner: Becky Lynch- The Universal Champion Seth Rollins is backstage when approached by Vince McMahon. Vince asks if it's true that Rollins made a title match for earlier without the consent of a McMahon. When Rollins responded and apologized, but his intent is to be a fighting champion, Vince shrugs it off. Vince says he likes the idea of a fighting champion. Vince tells him to keep it up before walking off. -Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder vs. The B-TeamHawkins and Ryder hit two consecutive wins with Ryder hitting the Rough Ryder on Bo Dallas, their first night as Raw Tag Team Champions.

Following their win, the champions were immediately assaulted from behind by The Revival. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder laid Hawkins and Ryder out before claiming they will be cashing their rematch clause in next week on Raw.- Baron Corbin comes to the ring and mocks Kurt Angle, defeating Angle in his farewell match. Corbin is nearly booed out of the building when Braun Strowman's music hits and Strowman heads to the ring. Strowman says he'll shut Corbin up like he shut up Michael Che and Colin Jost last night.Baron Corbin vs. Braun StrowmanStrowman controls much of the match and is physically punishing Corbin. Strowman even hit an Angle Slam paying homage to the Hall of Fame career. Strowman then finishes Corbin off with a Running Powerslam.
winner: Braun Strowman- Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor is speaking with Charly Caruso following his big win last night. Balor said sometimes tapping into one' inner demon is necessary. Caruso confirms Balor is defending against Lashley tonight in the rematch before Bobby Lashley attacks him from behind. Lashley throws Balor into the set behind, destroying it while Lashley introduces Balor to the backstage environment while Lio Rush shouts down his throat. Lashley then clears a table backstage before propping it up and spearing Balor through it. Lio Rush leaves by saying Lashley is walking out with the title tonight. -
- Moment of Bliss is set up and Alexa Bliss welcomes Sasha Banks and Bayley as her guests. Bliss pours salt into the wound of the former Women's Tag Team Champions and continue to push their buttons. Sasha then breaks and says the next PPV is Backlash on May 19th. Banks proclaims they'll challenge the IIconics then for the titles. The Riott Squad come and join in the mocking before Ruby Riott challenges Bayley and Sasha. -Boss 'n Hug Connection vs. Riott Squad (w/Ruby Riott)Bayley and Banks had a struggle majority of the match and as the match draws to a close, Sarah Logan looked to capitalize on Kaiju Killer, but Banks rolls out of the way and tags in Bayley. Bayley runs on momentum and hits a Bayley-to-Belly on Liv Morgan, but Logan had a blind tag. This allowed Logan to hit a Kentucky Knee, pinning Bayley.
winners: Riott Squad- Charly Caruso interviews the returning Sami Zayn. Zayn thanks the WWE Universe for a warm welcome and while he didn't knock off Rollins, he believes he was close. Zayn admits there is a bit of rust so once he knocks that off, he will be coming for Seth Rollins once again. -
- Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush come to the ring ready for an Intercontinental Championship match. After Balor's music plays and he doesn't come out after injuries sustained earlier, Lio pleads the official ring the bell and Balor can forfeit his title. Lashley and Rush are berating the official to do so before a music theme plays... out comes a familiar face! The crowd is stunned. The man heads down and he gets a microphone and while he steps up to Lashley, he says "I'm afraid I've got some bad news" before smashing Lashley in the head with a microphone. Barrett throws rights at Lashley while he tries to block them before hitting the Bull Hammer to lay out Lashley while Lio Rush watches from ringside in amazement. -The moment has come. Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Triple H all make their way to the ring. This is when Raw cuts to its final commercial break prior to the "groundbreaking" announcements.
VINCE "Many would say that 35 years is an accomplishment. I tend to agree. A lot has been poured into this company by me and a countless number of individuals, in the ring and behind the curtain, to make sure WrestleMania reached the 35 mark. How did we do that? Trying our best every single week. When we took matters into our hands, that is what we vowed to do.
"It's no secret that I likely won't see the next 35 years, but my hope is the three standing here will. And I sincerely believe what we have done as an unit has been for the betterment of WWE and its future. But now, it is time to focus on the present. The present of Raw, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, 205 Live, and to-"
STEPH "Dad - I got it from here.
"The WWE provides fans of eight hours a week of in-ring action that people can get nowhere else. The WWE provides several niche audiences what they want. You want the best of the best? You want the high flyers in fast-paced action? You want the future? You want the future from overseas? We provide that for you.
"Last night, WWE pushed for equality with women and Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch shattered every ceiling known imaginable. The four of us cannot express how proud we are of those three and the entire women's division. So the question is always in this business, what's next?
"On June 6th, the WWE Network will be launching a new weekly episodic program. We are proud to announce an all-women hour show. This will feature women from Raw, women from SmackDown, and they will be showcased for an hour every week on the WWE Network."
The crowd cheered as Shane McMahon takes over after his sister but receives boos from the onset.
SHANE "Y'all can boo me later, but I've got a really big announcement you all want to hear.
"As Stephanie mentioned, there is a lot of weekly content to cover, and we need people to tend to these carefully. This means that I will be resuming my role as SmackDown Live Commissioner."
STEPH "And I will be the commissioner of Monday Night Raw."
Stephanie gets a much warmer reception than Shane, but Shane O'Mac continues on.
SHANE "With that said, I know I will be assembling a team for SmackDown Live as Stephanie will be for Raw. And next week is the return of the Superstar Shakeup!
"Superstars from Raw can come to SmackDown Live, and superstars from SmackDown Live can come to Raw. You might even find some crossover with 205 Live and our other rosters."
TRIPLE H "Hold up, Shane."
The crowd cheers as Triple H steps up.
TRIPLE H "With all due respect to SmackDown Live, and with all due respect to Raw, Steph, the future is NOW in NXT!
"We've seen that here in recent months as I've brought NXT talent to Raw and SmackDown Live to showcase their talents. It's safe to say they have taken the ball and ran further than expected.
"So on May 1st, NXT will go live with a WWE Draft. Both Raw and SmackDown Live will have the opportunity to draft anyone from NXT, NXT UK, the Performance Center... This includes Aleister Black, EC3, Ricochet, and anyone Stephanie or Shane choose."
VINCE "Y'all heard it here first. Just because WrestleMania season is over doesn't mean things stop rolling. There's no off-season for the WWE. We don't plan to take this lightly. The superstars need to step up. My children need to step up. And the WWE Universe needs to get up and be ready for what's in store. Because WWE is..."
STEPH "Then..."
SHANE "Now..."
