SmackDown begins with Nick Aldis in his office, addressing the WWE Universe. Aldis shares a busy week for WWE, and while the brand couldn't come to terms with keeping the WWE Championship on SmackDown, he has acquired the Judgment Day - inevitably swapping the women's titles and the world titles. He welcomes Judgment Day to SmackDown... this transitions to the Judgment Day coming out with the gold.
***
Finn Balor gloated about what Judgment Day did. Rhea Ripley retained her title, Dominik Mysterio beat his dad at WrestleMania, and most importantly, Damian Priest is the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Balor then turns and shrugs at JD McDonagh, saying he's just there. But this is interrupted by AJ Styles. Styles demands if they step into the House AJ Styles Built, they put their championship on the line, challenging Priest tonight. Balor hastily accepts, but the rest of Judgment Day retract it. Instead, Damian orders Finn Balor to wrestle AJ Styles in the main event. If Styles wins, then "we can talk."

Footage from WrestleMania shows how everything unfolded, including Jey Uso screwing his cousin Roman Reigns out of his WWE Championship.
***
MATCH ONE: Becky Lynch vs. Kairi Sane Both following losses at WrestleMania, Becky gets her foot on the right track by beating Kairi Sane, moving out of the way from the Insane Elbow, to lock in the Disarmher and force Kairi to tap out.
As Becky gets the microphone and begins to challenge Rhea to a WrestleMania rematch, Lynch is blindsided by the rest of Damage CTRL. Asuka and Dakota Kai beat Becky Lynch down until Natalya runs down, but the numbers catch up to Natalya as well... until JADE CARGILL comes out. Her presence alone has Damage CTRL jump out of the ring as Cargill and Lynch go face-to-face.
***
MATCH TWO: Andrade vs. Dragon Lee To what anyone would expect, this match HIT! Yet it's one slip Andrade takes advantage of to hit La Sombra and get away with a win over Dragon Lee.
***
Another package airs from WrestleMania this weekend, showing Logan Paul retaining his United States Championship. Paul is scheduled to be in the building tonight!
***
MATCH THREE: Bron Breakker vs. Akira Tozawa Continuing his steam, Breakker runs through Tozawa with Alpha Academy there at ringside to watch. After cutting Tozawa in half with a Spear, Breakker backs off knowing the numbers advantage isn't in his favor.
***
United States Champion Logan Paul rolls to the ring and gloats about being champion for over 50 days and successfully retaining the title against BOTH Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Paul is interrupted by the Viper. Orton clarifies Logan Paul used his brass knuckles, while it's legal, on Owens. Orton points out he's not been pinned, and with Owens on Raw now, it's just the two of them. Orton suggests they have a 1-on-1 title match now, but Logan Paul starts to leave saying not tonight. Orton shrugs and as he turns his back, Paul reaches into his jeans and grabs the brass knuckles before he charges at Orton, who lured Paul in with the RKO! Orton gets the upper-hand this time as he lays the United States Champion out!
***
MATCH FOUR: Tiffany Stratton vs. Zoey Stark Two of the hottest young stars on the SmackDown roster, much like Andrade and Dragon Lee, showcased what they're capable of. In a clean win, it was Tiffy Time with her Prettiest Moonsault Ever!
***
Back in his office, Nick Aldis shares he has pondered what to do. He struck a deal for Judgment Day to come to SmackDown, hoping they'd bring all the gold to the blue brand, but instead Awesome Truth has it on Raw. Aldis wants his own set of tag team champions, so with the heavy tag division here, next week begins a tournament to crown the NEW World Tag Team Champions. And right now? Some of these teams in the tournament will compete in a 12-man tag.
***
MATCH FIVE: The Final Testament & Legado vs. Excellence & LWO (w/Carlito) in 12-Man Tag The animosity between these teams have been palpable for months. The match breaks down into absolute chaos, so who's sure of the legal men at this point? All we know is when Rey Mysterio hit the 619 on Berto, he got the win for his team!
***
Previewing next week's SmackDown... Roman Reigns and the Bloodline return for the first time since WrestleMania 40. PLUS, The tag team tournament starts! Here's the bracket released moments ago:
[PLAY-IN] Adonis & Alexander vs. Authors of Pain Legado del Fantasma vs. LWO Winners face each other for the 8-seed
[QUARTERFINALS] (1) Judgment Day vs (8) (2) Bloodline vs (7) Alpha Academy (3) The New Day vs (6) Pretty Deadly (4) Street Profits vs (5) The OC
***
MAIN EVENT: AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor As you can expect, an incredible back-and-forth. AJ Styles appeared to be getting the upperhand when Priest and Ripley sent Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh in to ruin the party, causing for the DQ. It's a beatdown on Styles until The OC's music hit! Gallows and Anderson darted to the ring with bats to clear the ring. Styles staggered to his feet noticing Gallows and Anderson saved him, not sure what to think about receiving their help as SmackDown goes off air tonight.

APRIL 19, 2024
We are 3 weeks away from Backlash in France! We're getting started immediately with the first match, kicking off the World Tag Team Championships tournament with a play-in matchup.
MATCH ONE: Legado del Fantasma (with Santos Escobar & Elektra Lopez) vs. LWO (with Carlito and Zelina Vega) Months of tension are coming to a head here with hopes to win the tag titles for SmackDown. An electric match to begin the show, but as Elektra tries to cheat for Legado, Zelina jumps on her with a Thesz Press. This leads to Santos pulling Zelina off Elektra, when Carlito comes in to attack. With all the distraction, Berto tries pulling a chain out and swings at Joaquin, but misses, and nearly hits the official. As Berto tries explaining, Wilde rolls Berto up and gets the THREE! Advancing to later tonight.
***
Following a replay of last week's main event breaking down, AJ Styles comes to the ring. Styles calls the OC out and once he's face-to-face, appreciates what they did last week, but made it very clear he doesn't need any help. Styles makes it clear he wants to do this on his own and leave no doubt how good he is. Styles lays the challenge down for Backlash in 3 weeks. *TBC*
