Crimson 7
Ep 1.01 - "The Find"
The Well's Fargo bank, the fourth largest bank in America. Millions of dollars makes it's way in and out of the bank daily. The bank itself sees thousands a day. And now, it's just been robbed by the notorious Crimson 7. Their leader, the one known only by the code name, Capital is standing in the vault of the bank. Capital observes the wiped out vault. The Crimson 7 have left it bone dry.
Six: "Capital!"
Capital hears Six calling. Capital exits the vault to find Six.
Capital: "What is it?"
Six: "It's time to go. The others have already loaded up. You ready?"
Capital looks back at the vault.
Capital: "Yeah... Yeah I'm ready. Let's move it out!"
Six lets Capital take lead. As they head down a hall, they walk past a room full of hostages. Capital walks in the room. The hostages look terrified.
Capital: "It's all over ladies and gentlemen. You all get to go home very soon. I give you my word and the word of my people. Your cell phones and other belongings are on the second floor in the ladies' room. I thank all of you for your cooperation."
Capital shuts the door and exits the bank in the alley way to meet Six and the rest of the Crimson 7. They get into two vans and casually drive off.
~End of Scene~
Amanda Woods has just finished her very first shift as a detective for the SFPD. She's driving down the road when she sees a veichle swerving on and off. She turns the siren on in her unmarked car to pull the swerving driver over. The car pulls over and Amanda pulls over just behind it. She makes sure her badge is visible on her belt before she steps out of the car. Amanda gets out of her car and heads to the car she pulled over.
Amanda: "Sir? Sir, can you please put your window down. SFPD."
The driver is clearly drunk and Amanda knows it.
Amanda: "Sir, please! I'm not going to ask again. You're going to force me to break your window, and I'm sure your insurance would just love to hear that you were drinking under the influence!"
Amanda crosses her arms and grins as the driver finally puts the window down.
Driver: "You're.. You're... You're awfully pretty to be a police woman. Hey... Wanna see my gun?"
Amanda rolls her eyes.
Amanda: "You're sick! I'm going to place you under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Get out of the car sir."
The driver finally complies and exits his car. Amanda reads him his rights and proceeds to cuff him. As she starts walking the man to her car, she notices two identical vans splitting up. One of the vans pulls in a warehouse just down the road. Amanda takes the drunk driver and sits him on the curb.
Amanda: "Wait here a minute and don't move!"
Amanda rushes to her car and radios in to dispatch.
Amanda: "Dispatch, this is Detective Woods. Hey I just saw something a little suspicious. Is there anything going on?"
Dispatcher: "We had a confirmed bank robbery. Wells Fargo. It happened just after you turned your radio off for the evening. There were at least seven suspects and witnesses say two get away veichles were used in their escape."
Amanda: "Alright. Well I just saw two identical veichles traveling north bound together. They didn't see me, but they separated from each other. I'm going to check it out."
Amanda doesn't take her car, instead she moves on foot.
Driver: "Hey lady! What about me!?"
Amanda jogs off into the van's direction. She reaches the warehouse and instead of taking the entrance the van did, she finds a staircase that leads to the second floor. She enters through a broken out door, and she can hear people talking. There are three masked individuals.
Three: "Is the rendezvous point still the same?"
Six: "Capital's plan never fails. The rendezvous is still the same."
Four: "Three is right. We've never split up like this. Why would we split up?"
Six: "I said don't worry about it! You know better than to question Capital!"
Amanda watches from a second floor balcony. She takes cover with her back to the three. Amanda looks hesitant, wondering if she should act. She draws her gun from the holster and bounces up. She yells!
Amanda: "SFPD! Get down on your knees now!"
They put their hands up and drop to their knees. Amanda makes her way down to them.
Amanda: "One at a time, take off your masks. Do it!"
Six: "Now this is interesting..."
Amanda has her eyes on Three first.
Amanda: "Take it off. Now..."
Suddenly Six jumps to his feet and shoves Four into Amanda! Her gun goes off and hits Three in the leg. Amanda hits the ground, and by the time she realizes what's going on, Six and Four are gone. But Three is still on the ground, writhing in pain. Amanda gets to her feet and approaches Three. She picks her gun up and keeps it focused on Three while reaching for the red mask. She removes the mask and Three is revealed to be a man.
Amanda: "You're under arrest and if you even think about moving, I'll aim higher than your leg!"
Amanda pulls out her phone and calls for backup as Three glares at her.
~End of Scene~
Reporters and cameras are all over the precinct as a convoy of SFPD veichles arrives. Amanda steps out of her car and she is met by a swarm of reporters. Among the reporters is Rebekah Schmidt, the city's most famous reporter.
Rebekah: "Detective! Detective, how did you do the impossible? How did you make the arrest of a member of the Crimson 7!? The world wants to know!"
Amanda keeps pushing her way through the crowd of reporters, ignorning their questions. She makes her way up the precinct's staircase and turns back to the reporters.
Amanda: "Please, give us our space. We will update you when we have more information."
The swarm of reporters shout out more questions, but Rebekah's voice stands out.
Rebekah: "Detective, you made the arrest. No one else was there but you! That must make you feel like you're at the top of the world!"
Amanda: "We stopped a bad guy today. We as officers always feel grateful when we can do that. Now please, we have work to do."
The cameras continue to roll on Amanda until she enters the precinct.
~End of Scene~
Amanda walks through the precinct, making her way to the holding areas. She arrives to a secured bullet proof door, behind the glass is Sully Wilson, the highly respected and retired Police Captain. He's now working part time as the precinct's security doorman.
Amanda: "Hey Sully."
Sully: "Well if it isn't the SFPD's biggest name. You had quite the day Detective."
Amanda smiles and nods as she fills out the sign in sheet.
Amanda: "Yeah... And I have the strangest feeling that all of my fun is just beginning."
Sully: "Hey.. You did good Amanda. I'm proud of you."
Sully smiles and Amanda smiles back in appreciation. She slides the sign in sheet under the glass, back to Sully. He then buzzes her in.
Sully: "Welcome to the playground."
Amanda continues on and makes her way to where Three is being held. There are two officers outside of his cell. One of them stops Amanda.
Officer: "Sorry ma'am, but we can't let you in there."
Amanda: "What? Why? I'm his arresting officer. I'm here for the interrogation session."
Officer: "I'm sorry Detective. That was the order give to us."
Amanda has a suspicious look on her face.
Amanda: "What orders?"
?: "Mine!"
Amanda turns around to find Captain Mason Rourke approaching her.
Amanda: "Captain, what the hell? Why can't I interrogate my suspect?"
Rourke: "Because he isn't your suspect. Amanda, do you have any idea who's sitting behind that door? That's a member of the Crimson 7, a group that is number one on the FBI's most wanted list."
Amanda: "So what are you saying? All of a sudden it's not my case?!"
Rourke: "That's exactly what I'm saying, and it was never your case to begin with! You scored that arrest on pure luck. It was during a shift change and to add icing on a very nasty cake, you left another man handcuffed on the side of the road, a drunk man!"
Amanda: "Sir. I-"
Rourke: "Save it Amanda. This is a federal case now. The FBI is sending one of their own right now to interview the suspect. He's been on the case since day one. Now go home Detective. Tomorrow's another day, and don't talk to any of the damn media!"
Captain Rourke walks off and Amanda leans her back up against the wall with her arms crossed as she reflects on what just happened. She then walks off in the opposite direction of Rourke to leave the precinct.
~End of Scene~
Sully is playing a game of solitaire when there's a knock on his window. He looks up to find a man dressed in a blacked out suit.
Sully: "Identification please."
The man pulls out a badge. An FBI badge.
Quentin Miller: "My name is Special Agent Quentin Miller. I'm here regarding the Crimson 7 case."
Sully: "Ah yes! They said you were coming. Please just sign here and we'll have you on your way."
Sully slides the sign in sheet under the glass for Quentin to sign it. He then buzzes the door open. Quentin makes his way to the holding areas.
Sully: "Give em hell!"
As Quentin heads through the hall, Amanda is coming at him from the opposite direction. The two walk past each other and he notices that she has an uneasy expression on her face. He stops to turn to her.
Quentin: "Excuse me! You wouldn't happen to be Detective Woods, would you?"
Amanda stops and turns to face him.
Amanda: "Sorry... Captain told me not to talk to the media."
Quentin: "Well yeah.. I'm not the media honey."
Quentin takes out his bade and shows Amanda.
Quentin: "Are you sure you still don't want to talk? It's my understanding that you were the one who caught a member of the Crimson 7."
Amanda: "Yeah.. Yeah that's me. But my captain told me the case isn't mine. Sorry."
Amanda goes to leave but Quentin yells out to her.
Quentin: "Come talk to Three with me!"
Amanda stops and turns back around. She heads back down the hall, next to Quentin.
Quentin: "You deserve this recognition, and you deserve to be the one who interrogates him. I don't care what your captain said, and don't worry, I'll have your back. So what do you say?"
Amanda grins and nods her head.
~End of Scene~
Three sits at an interrogation table. His arms and legs are shackled. He is staring hard at the wall. The door to the room opens and Quentin steps in with Amanda.
Quentin: "Hello. I'm Special Agent Quentin Miller and I assume you already know the fine detective here."
Three continues to glare at the wall, and completely ignores Quentin. Quentin takes a seat while Amanda leans up against the door.
Quentin: "So. Let's start with the basics. What's your real name? I'm sure mommy and daddy didn't name you Three."
Three continues to ignore.
Quentin: "We took prints. We'll figure your name out sooner or later. But what about your friends? What's their names?"
Three turns his head to face Quentin and Amanda.
Three: "They're coming for me, and all of you are going to die."
Quentin laughs.
Quentin: "The only thing coming for you is a jail cell. But if you talk a little bit and help me out, maybe I can help you out too."
Three: "And exactly how are you going to help me Agent?"
Quentin: "The Crimson 7 has committed 59 known crimes in the United States. 27 of those crimes involved murder, but we know that not all 7 members have killed, and what if you're one of those ones who haven't. I can cut you a deal. Give me information and I will slash your sentence by 10 years."
Three: "Do you play me for a fool Agent? We don't know who each other really is. Hell, I've never even seen Capital's face. But how about his good ole' buddy, Six. The one who left me out to dry when this ***** arrested me!"
Quentin: "What can you tell us about Six?"
Three: "He's got a wife and two kids. A son and a daughter whom he loves very much. I've seen their pictures, but I don't know their names."
Quentin: "America is filled with millions of kids. How do you expect me to pick those two out for you to identify? That doesn't help me or you."
Three smirks.
Three: "Because they're here in the city..."
Quentin looks back at Amanda.
Quentin: "Get me the names of all the families with children living in a 25 mile radius, go!"
Amanda: "I'm on it."
Three: "It's no use Detective! They're coming! And we'll have very special plans for you!"
Amanda turns back and looks at Three with disgust. She then leaves. Three continues to smirk at Quentin.
~End of Scene~
It's late at night. Amanda is still doing her research that Quentin asked for. Captain Rourke sees her at her desk.
Rourke: "Woods! What the hell are you doing here still? It's almost midnight."
Amanda: "Agent Miller asked me to assist him on the Crimson case."
Rourke looks instantly annoyed.
Rourke: "Christ Amanda! What did I tell you? The FBI is handling it ans you're off the case."
Amanda: "Didn't you hear me? I said Agent Miller asked me to help!"
Rourke doesn't agree but he looks at Amanda's computer.
Rourke: "Alright... Well what do you got?"
Amanda: "Not much yet unfortunately. The information Three gave to us is almost useless. There are thousands of potential names. Unless we get a real name, it's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack."
As the two continue to dig up any information they can find, they both hear a loud thud and exchange looks.
Rourke: "That came from the back entrance. Pull up the security feeds on your computer."
Amanda logs in and brings up the feed. Two masked men are welding the door shut! And they aren't any masked men. They are two of Crimson.
Rourke: "****... They're here for their buddy, and it doesn't look like they're going to ask nicely."
Amanda stands up out of her chair and draws her gun.
Amanda: "Sir, we can not let them get to Three. They're here to bust him out."
Rourke gets on the radio.
Rourke: "This is Captain Rourke! I need all units to return to the precinct immediately! We are being infiltrated. Arrive with extreme cau-"
The radio instantly fries! As do all the electronics in the building. The back up generator turns on the back up lights.
Rourke: "This isn't good."
Amanda: "C'mon, we need to get to the holding areas!"
Rourke and Amanda run off in the direction of the holding cells. The front entrance blows up from C4! Amanda and Rourke are thrown to the ground from the blast. Smoke grenades are shot into the precinct.
Amanda: "Take cover! They're using smoke!"
Six leads the remaining Crimson 7 members in. Capital enters behind them. Officers areive on scene and a shootout begins. A shooutout that the Crimson 7 has the police outgunned. Capital casually makes his way through the smoke and gun fire. He's heading for the holding cells. Amanda can see him through the smoke. She takes off after him.
Rourke: "Wait! Where are you going!?"
Rourke stays behind and returns gun fire at the rest of the Crimson 7. Amanda runs to the holding area, and as she arrives, she finds the guard on duty dead. Stabbed in the throat. Amanda has her gun ready as she cautiously moves down the hall. She stops as she hears Three talking.
Three: "I gave them nothing! Now let's get the hell out of here. The detective? She's a nobody who got lucky! What do you mean?"
Three lets put a terrifying scream. Amanda takes off in his direction.
Amanda: "FREEZE!"
Amanda turns to Three's cell and he's dead. His fate the same as the security guard. Suddenly she is grabbed from behind and slammed back first up against the wall! She falls to the ground in pain. She looks ahead and sees a pair of feet inches in front of her. She looks up and Capital stands above her. He rips Amanda to her feet and she tries to defend herself but Capital easily out powers her and pins her against the wall.
Capital: "It's you. The hero detective. It's an honor. No one has ever come this close to me and survived. It's a shame, Three would still be here if it wasn't for you."
Amanda: "I'm going to stop you and your entire gang!"
Capital chuckles and pulls his knife out, placing it softly against Amanda's throat.
Capital: "You're brave detective. Braver than most. That's why I'm not going to kill you tonight, no. I want the momenuto be right. I want this city to watch as I end the hero who nearly brought down the Crimson 7. We'll be seeing each other again very soon, Amanda."
Amanda has a stunned look on her face as Capital reveals he knows her. Capital lets her go and backs away. Amanda doesn't pursue him, she instead has a shocked look on her face. She takes a few steps forward and feels the back of her head. She wipes off a trickle of blood. She looks back up and Capital is gone. Crimson retreats and gets away, vanishing into the night.
Rourke: "Amanda! Amanda, are you alright?!"
Amanda turns to him and slowly nods. Rourke sees her head bleeding.
Rourke: "C'mon we should get that checked, that's a nasty cut."
Amanda: "We need to stop them Mason. They're aren't going to stop."
Rourke: "And we will but right now you need medical attention, c'mon let me help you."
Amanda is clearly out of it from her head wound as Rourke helps her out of the precise to an ambulance outside.
~End of Scene~
Capital is walking with Three's mask in his hand. He sets it on a desk and then his knife next to it.
Capital: "In time Amanda... In time."
Capital has a picture of Amanda that the newspaper used when she arrived to the precinct after arresting Three.
